updates with pics
So...getting ready for work and D frantically calls me into the kitchen. He stands right up to the counter “See. See. I can see.” Yes, D is tall enough to see over the counter now. How big!

There is construction down the road from our house. Lo knows that there are those that are not as fortunate as we are and says “when I grow up, I will have an instruction company [construction...] and let poor people live in them I can even pay them to live there”. Our little humanitarian!
And here is Bo. Bouncing up (never forward...). Always up.

DIVA!
So, sitting at dinner and Lo had his foot up on D's chair and pinched his finger. I yelled at him and told him to keep his feet under his chair. He cried and sent himself to his room. Matt asked what was going on and I told him that the diva is punishing himself. He called "Celine, come and eat your pie"
D kept calling him "Celine" for the rest of dessert and I have to say that I almost wet my pants it was so hysterical.

He's a thinker
So Lo was asking question after question and counting them along the way...at question #12 dad was getting a bit annoyed and said that if he asked 13 questions Lo would have to go to bed.
"ok, this is the 2nd half of question #12..."
We were speechless. We had just been outdone by our 6 year old.

Because being Nice matters
So I am heating up the oven to cook *pizza* and D wants to see. Usually he just turns on the light and looks. Nope. Not this time. He starts pushing all the buttons. I am downstairs and all I hear are the beeps. I run and see that he is almost ready to set the self cleaning. GREAT!
I tell him he needs to leave the kitchen.
"Why, I'm being nice."
True, cleaning the oven would be nice...I guess.

Is his singing really THAT bad?!?
So dad and D are enjoying watching some Robby Gordon racing and there is a soundtrack playing...dad starting singing along-and a little hand goes over his mouth. D: "stop singing you making me sick".
For the record-I did not think it was that bad...

forget babies, where do coughs come from?
D gets what he calls "the coughs". Basically, it's just whenever he coughs. The other night @ dinner he had a coughing fit. Afterword "Dad, where do coughs come from?" Who really knows? And does a 3 year old want the real answer? "Your tummy" "No. Mine come from my back" So there you have it. Coughs come from your back.

Genious or Germaphobe?
So, Lo was washing his hands after using the bathroom. When he was done he used the hand towel to turn off the faucet. He looks at me and says "Mom, I don't get it. We turn on the sink with our germy hand, wash the germs off, then turn the sink off and touch the germs?"
I am just wondering where he got that from. I mean, yeah, he could be a genius, but I am leaning toward germaphobe.

smarty
The other night we were all sitting around the table eating dinner. The boy's were eating off of plats, dad and I out of bowls. Lo is learning about how to group things together different ways, so I asked him how all of our dinnerware was similar. Before Lo was even able to look around "circles" came flying out of D's mouth. It was great!

Waaa Waaa Waaaa & dishes
A few days back, during a whine-fest from Lo, dad sent D to say “waa waaa waa” to him. Yeah, taunting is Dad’s thing. D surprised us with “Lo, I wanna see some tears”. It was hysterical!
Then, while I was out having craft night, dad stayed home with the boys. After dinner he was in the kitchen cleaning up and doing the dishes (THANK YOU!!). D comes up to him “dad, why you do dishes? You not a girl”. Being told this after the fact-I laughed.
And decided that dad needs to do dishes more often : )

favorite colors...
So, Lo was having a conversation with Aunt T about favorite colors...hers is gray...his is brown. "Brown? I have never heard anyone say their favorite color is brown?" says Aunt T. Big grin from Lo..."Is that a bad thing?" We all giggled.
BTW-tell me it will end soon...he is 6, but throws tantrums better than his 3 year old brother...it has to end soon, not sure how much longer we can take it. Tantrums over every little thing. Arg...

Naughty or Nice?
So, long story still kinada long-we are all at Costco and Lo sees that the movie “Up” is out and start a huge tantrum in the middle of Costco because he wants it and we will not get it for him (someone has already bought it for them for Christmas). Huge enough fit that I take him straight to the car.
Then, while getting gas Matt cleans off the windshield. The boys think that their windows are dirty enough for a cleaning too and want him to wash their windows. Well-he’s outside & can’t hear them. For D-no big deal, he brushes it off. For Lo-back to fittown. Enough that he is told when we get home he has to go to bed. He is obviously too tired to act like a big boy.
I am in D’s room putting him to bed; Matt is trying to calm Lo down. He is in full blown throwing himself around & screaming fit mode. “We will put Up on your Christmas list and maybe santa will bring it for you”. It actually got kinda quiet as Matt adds “and what do you have to be to get gifts from santa-on the nice list, right? Are you being nice or naughty right now?” Silence. As Matt is walking out of the room “well, Santa can’t bring me a clean window for Christmas”.
I hold in my giggles as long as I can, then they burst out. Matt hears and he starts laughing too. Even D jumps in with a couple. Well, this infuriates Lo again and back to the naughty list he goes!

More from the road
So, another little tidbit from our trip to Montana last month... Driving along trying to keep the boys entertained someone came up with a rhyme game (you know "tire" "fire" etc) After several minutes of everyone but D participating, he must have felt a little left out. All of a sudden "PIGGY PIGGY" comes out of his mouth. It was hysterical! He was soo proud of himself :)

weekends
So, you probably thought I was going to say something like "this weekend..."
Nope. I am going to tell you that L now does not like weekends. WHY?!?
"It's 2 days that I can't go to school". Yeah, let's see how long that lasts!!

shopping & cheers
so...sitting at the computer reading all about NieNie (see the button to her link) when D came down asking if I wanted to go shopping. Sure! He grabbed my hands "C'mon, let's go" we are both still in jammies and he has breakfast all over his face...yeah, I think we might need to clean up first :)
then, both boys having thier selected beverages in their sippy cups, happened to look at each other in the same instand and both said "CHEERS!" and tapped thier glasses together. So cute!

little tidbits
"Indeed"
L was sitting on Daddy's toilet doing some thinking-and of course D thinks he has to "think" also. So I tell D that brother is uding daddy's toilet so he has to go upstairs. "Indeed I am using this toilet. Not everyone says indeed, mom. I try to say it everyday." WHAT!?! Really, my almost 6 year old-indeed!
"Dazzling"
L was using his brand new blendy pens: "these blendy pens are dazzling, mom" Good thing I was already sitting down, or I would have fell down with laughter. Almost wet myself. It was just so funny!
~updates to follow about the recent Birthday Parties!! The BIG 6 for L....all the fun & presents!!
and the first day of Kindergarden!!

Boogers. and Bees
Yeah- I said it. Boogers. More accurately: booger house. D was going down for his nap on Saturday (camping-FUN!) and he picked his nose. He shows me the booger and says "my booger" Thank you! Pointing to his nose "this my booger house". Too funny for words!!
All of this right on the heels of him getting stung by a wasp. He comes over after being in the "forest" and is rubbing his neck and screaming. I thought he maybe he stabbed himself in the neck with a branch or something. But when I looked-big ol' wasp. I slapped at it a few times and that f*&$% bee would not come off! Between the bee sting, the frantic look on my face and my smacking him-D was NOT a happy camper (sorry-no pun intended). I had to pry it off his neck - then worry. He had never been stung so I just watched him making sure he did not swell up. He quickly recovered and all was well. The welt was gone a short while later.
And, on the way home we had a flat tire. We could actually hear it coming out of the tire as we were driving down a gravel road. Thanks Uncle D for always having dad check the spare tire's air pressure. Stuck 2 hours from anywhere on a backroad for any amount of time would have been crummy. Thanks DAD for the quick tire change & the quiet ride home :)

this morning
So D is hysterical! This morning my wonderful husband went in to wake the boys up and get them ready for daycare...they were already awake and in a playful mood. D was already back under the covers -all the way under- (L was still there...). Daddy starts to pull the covers back and D yells "I still sleeping, get outta my room" *giggle giggle* then I go in there and it's nothing but smiles all around. Then he says "you tickle me" so it was on!
